Sunday 29th January - EC match, the Mighty U14’s Titans consisting of Lowestoft & Yarmouth, Wymondham, and Beccles against Shelford U14’s At Shelford Rugby Club.

The Titans were first to get on the score board with Ruby scoring right in the corner making it a difficult none converted try. The Titans fought well for a good 10 minutes until Shelford answered back finding a gap and getting the ball over the line. With some reactive play, swift hands and a charging dive from Poppy the Titans managed to score again and a smiling Poppy also made the conversion.

After Shelford taking off an injured player, a massive thank you goes out to our Dragon, Morgan, for volunteering to go off to keep the number of players equal. Shelford answered back just before half time with a none converted try making the half time score 10-12.

A quick Titans half time chat and some fresh legs to ensure all players had at least half a match as per the Cluster rules before the second half commenced.

The Titans were putting in some great play against a well drilled opposition with the fiery Ruby making a fantastic run down the wing to score the first try of the second half, Jass was putting in some real fancy footwork stepping Shelford left, right and centre with our #9 Izzy being worked hard at all the breakdowns.

There was some strong play from both sides with and a couple of injuries to Shelford resulting in both teams playing with 12 a side due to Shelford having no subs.

Unfortunately, for the Titans, Shelford managed a further 4 unconverted tries bringing the final score to 32-19.

I would like to say thank you to Shelford for hosting, all the parents/ guardian’s for travelling and all the players for a great effort.

Both teams enjoyed the after match food and cakes before the journey home… bring on the next match.
